We are a university looking to the future where we serve and develop our local, national and international communities by creating purposeful knowledge and research, confident and creative graduates and a dynamic and engaged workforce.

Research & Enterprise is a central professional support department which works with staff (across the whole university), industry (private, public and third sector), external partners (e.g. Local Enterprise Partnership, Innovate UK, Midlands Engine etc.), students and graduates to drive:

  • An increase in the quantity & diversity of external income through research, educational and consultancy activity
  • A dynamic research environment
  • Increased levels of graduate employment and progression
  • Innovation & productivity levels throughout our region

The Industrial Partnerships Co-ordinator will support the expansion of the University’s existing knowledge exchange (KE) portfolio of products and services through greater engagement and partnership with industry e.g. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), Innovate UK and consultancy. The role will contribute to the University’s wider research and business development goals through internal and external promotion of potential funding opportunities, supporting the co-ordination and submission of funding applications, stakeholder engagement, academic training and co-ordinating project completion.

Considerable interaction with external businesses, academic colleagues and professional services staff is required in order to develop effective networks and a flexible support service that responds to the fluctuating nature of funding calls.
