The University of Lincoln was awarded HEFCE Strategic Development Funding to establish a new School of Engineering at its Brayford Campus in the centre of Lincoln in 2009. This is a ground-breaking initiative, in collaboration with Siemens and other employers in the engineering sector that seeks to develop engineering education for the 21st century. The School combines Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics and now Biomedical Engineering and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees as well as conducting research, knowledge transfer and employer engagement.

The School of Engineering at Lincoln is research focused. We have funded research programmes with a diverse portfolio of UK and International funding bodies and organisations. A successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in a research area that aligns with or broadens our research portfolio in the area of Biomedical Engineering. 

The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a permanent Associate Professor with established teaching expertise in a subject relevant to the field of Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate will also be expected to act as Programme Leader for this new programme. In addition to teaching duties there will also be an expectation to support wider School of Engineering activities such as pastoral support for students, open days, and other recruitment events.
