Medical Education Fellows x 2 (FIXED TERM)

Lincoln Medical School – Universities of Nottingham and Lincoln

Location:  Lincoln
Salary:   From £37,935 per annum
These are full time posts of 1.0 FTE for 1 year from start date
Closing Date:   Friday 12 June 2020
Interview Date:   Tuesday 30 June 2020
Reference:  COS628A

Lincoln Medical School is a partnership between the Universities of Nottingham and Lincoln. We admitted our first group of students in September 2019 and they will follow the University of Nottingham’s BMedSci and BMBS curricula.

In conjunction with United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, the University of Lincoln is seeking to appoint, from August 2020, two Medical Education Fellows in Anatomy / F3 doctors (Surgery and Orthopaedics). The appointees will work at total of 10 sessions per week.  5 sessions per week in the University and 5 sessions in the hospital.

On their university days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning), the appointees will act as demonstrators in anatomy practical classes, assist with clinical skills teaching, and will have the opportunity to carry out teaching in other settings such as lectures, seminars and case-based learning sessions. On their hospital days, the appointees will have duties, commensurate with their level of training, in the relevant clinical specialty area and will contribute to medical student teaching.

These posts would suit doctors who are due to complete Foundation Training in July 2020, but who currently feel that they would wish to develop their skills in medical education before undertaking core training. The posts will be offered as fixed-term 12 month posts but it would be possible to extend for a further 12 months.

If you are interested in these posts, please contact Dr Skantha Kandiah (Head of Anatomy, Lincoln Medical School, skandiah@lincoln.ac.uk) and Mr Paul Dunning (Director of Medical Education at ULHT, Paul.Dunning@ulh.nhs.uk)
