Employability Intern (Fixed Term)

Six exciting opportunities have arisen within the Research and Enterprise Department. These roles will contribute towards a key university objective to support our students and graduates in the development of their employability skills, and progression into meaningful careers.

The interns will work with the Careers and Employability Team and wider Research and Enterprise Department to play a key role in co-ordinating events for our current students. They will develop the services offered to key stakeholders and monitor the progression routes of our graduates, through the conduction of an annual destinations survey.

The purpose of these roles is to support the Careers and Employability Team (including the Student Job Shop) in the development and delivery of key employability projects and activities. These activities include, for example, the Lincoln Award, Employer contacts, and annual careers events, whilst also supporting the Business Incubation and Self Employment activities of Research and Enterprise, to support students with a desire to pursue such a career path. Each intern role will have a focus on one distinct activity. These activities centre around the following projects:

Events – supporting with the development and organisation of an effective Careers and Employability events programme, including annual careers fair.

Multimedia – To take a lead on the development of the Careers and Employability services social media presence, and development of the Service’s website and multi media functions.

Project Coordination (Self Employment) – To support the promotion and development of a range of activities to raise awareness of education regarding self employment options for students and graduates.

Project Coordination (Vacancy handling) – To be the main point of contact for employers wishing to advertise with the service and manage the relations with those employers, taking a proactive approach to employer engagement.

LincolnAward – To support with the ongoing development of the Lincoln Award, and to act as the main point of contact for students enrolled on the award, whilst further supporting the wider activities of the Job Shop.

There are 6 roles available, 2 which have a specific remit to work with the Lincoln Award, one of which is fixed term for 12 months and the second is for 9 months only. The remaining posts are for 12 months
