How to Apply
Finding Vacancies
Opportunities to work at the University of Lincoln are listed on the job opportunities page on this website. Here you can enter your selection criteria and view any current job opportunities that we have which match the criteria you have entered and also find more information about the roles.
How To Apply
Once you’ve found a role that’s a good fit for your skills and experience, click the Apply Online button and you’ll be asked to register and set up an account on the site (Why do I have to register?) or log into the account you’ve already created. Be sure to provide an email address you use regularly, because that’s how we’ll keep in touch with you about your application.
Online Application Form
We request that all applicants apply for vacancies via the online application form. During the application process you’ll be asked a series of questions that you can answer online. The form is designed to capture information such as your working history, relevant experience and qualifications and gives you an opportunity to provide a statement which outlines why you feel you are suitable for the role. An application form also helps to ensure that all applicants provide the information in the same format, enabling the selection panel to more easily compare the applications that they receive.
Each application will take in the region of 30 minutes to complete but can be completed in stages as you can login/logout at any time. The form automatically saves as you enter your information and it is simple to move backwards and forwards within the form at any time prior to submission. Help is available at each stage to guide you through the form.
Before submitting your application, please make sure that you have read the job description and person specification and have demonstrated how you meet the listed criteria for the post. Your application will be assessed according to how well you meet the knowledge, skills and attributes required.
All job opportunities will show a closing date for applications to be submitted by. Please note that the closing date is effective from midnight on that date. Once this date has passed, the role will close and no further applications will be accepted.
After Applying
Once you have submitted your application, you will see in the 'My Applications' area, that the status of your application will be "submitted" and it will also show the date of submission.
You will receive an acknowledgement email to confirm receipt of your application.
After Closing Date
The selection panel will assess all applicants against the requirements of the job description and person specification and then notify Human Resources of their decision.
You should assume that if you have not heard from us within 4 weeks from closing date that your application has been unsuccessful.
