Residential Warden or Senior Residential Warden (INTERNAL ONLY) (Fixed Term)

Student Support Centre

Location:  Lincoln
Closing Date:   Sunday 27 June 2021
Interview Date:   To be confirmed
Reference:  SA9190H

The University of Lincoln is looking for highly motivated individuals, interested in proactively impacting the student experience and developing their own personal and professional skills, to join the Residential Warden Team.

The Residential Warden Team consists of 7 Senior Wardens and 14 Residential Wardens. Applicants are asked to apply for one role but will have the opportunity to be considered for both.

To be eligible to apply, individuals must be studying at postgraduate level in the 2021-22 Academic year. The Residential Warden Team provides a further avenue of support to students, in addition to the teams within the Student Support and Student Wellbeing Centres, with the aim of providing an accessible source of support and someone to talk to, outside of the standard 9-5 operating hours of the University. Residential Wardens actively work as part of a rota covering evenings and weekends from 6pm to midnight, offering support to students via phone and in person. They work both reactively, responding to incidents and proactively, contacting student apartments to offer support and guidance.

The Residential Warden Team also organises and delivers events, activities, trips and awareness campaigns, as well as working at University of Lincoln events such as open days. Senior Residential Wardens are responsible for supervising and supporting Residential Wardens, and for overseeing shifts.

The role has a requirement to live in University owned and managed accommodation, fulfilling a commitment of 15 hours for each week in residence, plus training, with start and end dates negotiable. Senior Residential Wardens will be required to work an additional 20 (approx.) ‘on-call’ hours per week. Please note: ‘call-outs’ are rare and only in the event of an emergency where other departments require support for students.

Anticipated start date August/September 2021

This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for a Skilled Worker visa. Students on full-time Student visas are limited to certain time restrictions for the work they do which should be taken into account when applying for the roles.

Please note that this post will require an Enhanced - Child DBS check.
