            <p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">The School of Natural Sciences at the University of Lincoln seeks to appoint a Technician in the Animal Behaviour Clinic to support the delivery of the clinical service as well as support aspects of the MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour; for example practical teaching.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The post requires a candidate who has experience in Clinical Animal Behaviour. Accreditation as a CCAB, is desirable, alternatively the candidate must be willing to work towards this, with the support of the clinic team. Practical training experience and the ability to support clients with the implementation of behaviour modification protocols is required.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The candidate needs to have the ability to undertake administrative tasks, including working with a range of software packages relating to word processing, finance and website maintenance. Experience with day to day management of clinical bookings and material, as well as an appreciation for client confidentiality and appropriate data management is essential.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The successful applicant will work as part of a small and supportive clinical team comprising a European Specialist in Behavioural Medicine, Residents of the ECAWBM and a Non-Veterinary Behaviourist.             <p>Join the Applied Vision and Artificial Intelligence Lab (AVAIL) at the University of Lincoln to help develop HabiBench, the UK&#39;s first fully open multimodal benchmark for automated terrestrial habitat assessment.</p><p>Funded by the EPSRC UK Open Multimodal AI Network (UKOMAIN) through its Open Multimodal AI Benchmark (OMAIB) programme, HabiBench builds on the team&#39;s NERC-funded AI-Hab research. It will combine ground-level habitat photographs, satellite-derived geospatial representations and ecological descriptions into a high-quality open dataset supporting biodiversity monitoring, Biodiversity Net Gain and land-use decision-making.</p><p>As Research Assistant, you will help design and implement the automated data-construction pipeline; curate and quality-assure ecological and geospatial datasets; contribute to baseline multimodal AI models, evaluation and benchmarking; and prepare open releases through GitHub, Hugging Face and Zenodo. You will work with researchers and partners including the University of Sheffield, the UK Centre for Ecology &amp; Hydrology (UKCEH) and Mozaic Earth.</p><p>You should have an honours degree (2:1 or above) and/or a master&#39;s degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a closely related subject, with good Python skills and experience of machine-learning or data-processing workflows such as PyTorch or Pandas. Experience handling and curating datasets and an interest in collaborative, interdisciplinary AI research are essential.</p><p>Experience in computer vision, large language models, foundation models, geospatial machine learning, benchmarking, reproducible or open research, or biodiversity and environmental AI would be advantageous.             <p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true"><strong>Postdoctoral Research Associate in Medical Imaging AI for Brain Metastasis</strong></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">We are seeking an ambitious and collaborative Postdoctoral Research Associate to join a new EPSRC Health Technologies Connectivity Award led by Dr Wenting Duan at the University of Lincoln. The project focuses on developing clinically grounded AI for brain metastasis imaging in close collaboration with Professor Dorothee Auer and Dr Stefanie Thust, alongside clinical and imaging researchers at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">This is an exciting opportunity for a talented early-career researcher to help shape a focused and growing research programme at the interface of artificial intelligence, medical image analysis, and clinical neuro-oncology. The project is motivated by real clinical challenges in brain metastasis imaging, including small and difficult-to-detect lesions, variation in MRI protocols across hospitals, lesion heterogeneity, and the need for robust and clinically meaningful methods that can translate beyond narrow benchmark settings.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Lead and partner clinical collaborators to develop and evaluate AI methods for brain metastasis detection and analysis using public and partner imaging datasets. Depending on expertise and project needs, this may include work on lesion detection and segmentation, multimodal analysis, model robustness and generalisation, morphology-aware analysis, and clinically informed evaluation. The role will also involve dissemination through high-quality publications and conferences, engagement with external stakeholders, and contribution to the development of future translational funding opportunities.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">A distinctive feature of this post is the opportunity to work within a strongly interdisciplinary setting. The project is designed not only around technical AI development, but also around engagement with clinical workflow, imaging practice, and real translational constraints. The postholder will benefit from research visits to collaborators, access to computing support and research equipment, conference participation, and immersion in a collaborative clinical research environment.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Applicants should have, or defended the viva of, a PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, medical image analysis, biomedical engineering, or a closely related discipline. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong technical background in medical image computing, machine learning, computer vision, or multimodal AI, together with excellent programming and communication skills. Experience in areas such as lesion detection or segmentation, domain generalisation, robust evaluation, clinically motivated AI, or imaging biomarker analysis would be especially valuable.           <title><![CDATA[Post-doctoral Research Associate in Biophysics, Bioengineering or Mathematical Biology (CHS310A)]]></title>

            <p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">This is an externally-funded PDRA position supporting the Leverhulme project &ldquo;<em>Biophysical and morphological coevolution of egg micropyles and sperm in insects</em>&rdquo;. You will work closely with an international team of researchers across multiple disciplines at the University of Lincoln, UK, in collaboration with the Tulane University, USA.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Insect eggs are incredibly intricate and complex structures which are poorly studied when compared to sperm. To fertilise insect eggs, sperm must pass through a tiny pore called a micropyle, which connected to a channel leading inside the egg. Through our previous work on insect egg and sperm, we have shown that sperm and egg micropyles co-evolve.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The aim of this project is to quantify and explore the form and function of insect egg micropyles across insects. The post you would hold sits at the experimental heart of this: fabricating nano-scale physical analogues of egg surfaces and micropylar pores, and imaging live sperm as they move across and through them. These experiments are complemented by evolutionary analysis and mathematical modelling carried out with the wider team.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">This is a laboratory-based post and we are looking above all for a strong experimentalist. You will have a PhD (or close to completion) in experimental biophysics, bioengineering, applied physics or a closely allied discipline, with demonstrable hands-on experience of micro- and nanofabrication and of quantitative live-cell imaging. You will fabricate microfluidic devices and develop live imaging protocols to visualise sperm movement over engineered surfaces and through pores. You will also contribute to computational modelling of sperm movement alongside our collaborator Dr Adnan Morshed (Tulane University, USA) and write and run analysis code in R and/or Python. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to talk to different audiences, as you will be collaborating with a team of researchers across multiple disciplines both in the UK and overseas.</p>
