Research Project Manager (INTERNAL ONLY, Fixed Term)

Salary:   From £33,797 per annum
This post is full time at 37 hours per week and fixed term until December 2020.

This is a fixed-term secondment opportunity that supports a key institutional priority over the next year to December 2020 in laying a pivotal role to maximising our position in the forthcoming REF2021. 

This role, supported by a research administrator, will work under the direction of Dr Julie Bayley, Director, Impact Development and Professor Andrew Hunter, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) in conjunction with College Directors of Research and the REF team to ensure impact case studies across the institution are developed to maximise their positioning in REF2021 evaluation.  

REF is one of three key institutional priorities for the coming year and great impact case studies will be vital to the success of our submission as an institution. As we approach the final year of REF preparations, we are scaling up our efforts to maximise the potential of our Impact Case Studies and this role presents an exciting secondment opportunity for you to play a key role in our institutions success.  

The secondee will have good project management skills and an understanding of research and its evaluation, working to support case study authors in evidence gathering to substantiate the impact claims, check underpinning research and support development of the narrative. This presents a fantastic career development opportunity to be part of a key institutional priority that is part of the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. The secondee will be fully supported in their professional development including but not limited to development of internal and external networks, mentoring, training & development, engagement in national special interest groups, attendance at key events and conferences and engagement with professional bodies.
